Nathan grew up as a PK (Pastor's Kid), so you could say he literally grew up in the church. He was originally born in West Union, Iowa and lived in Fayette, IA. He only lived there for four years but he has a vivid memory of riding his big wheel all over town with his friends. Nathan and his family then moved to Mitchell, South Dakota, where he grew up with memories of sporting events in the World's Only Corn Palace.

Nathan was called into ministry at a young age, but tried to run from that calling until hearing a message at Oklahoma Wesleyan University on the persecuted church. Following his graduation from Oklahoma Wesleyan, Nathan worked at a Credit Union for five years before moving to Madison to start his ministry at Living Hope Church in 2008.

It was at Living Hope that Nathan met his beautiful wife Jennifer. She was a volunteer who stopped by regularly to prep materials and eventually they struck up a conversation about their mutual love for good food! Nathan and Jennifer are the proud parents of four amazing children, Anna, Nolan, Jack, and Judah.
